What does the Plan bring for Montenegro? ThisPlan will support the realisation of Montenegro’s largest public investment, the construction of the Bar-Boljare highway, which will integrate the country into the regional extension of the Core TEN-T network. Through this, it will provide a boost to the national economy and address the social divide between the coastal municipalities and the mountainous areas in the north.
Rail Route 4 linking Belgrade to Podgorica to the Montenegrin port of Bar will be fully rehabilitated from the Serbia border to the sea. The reconstruction of the road to the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina (road from Podgorica to Sarajevo) is also selected, as critical connecting link in the region.
Furthermore, this Plan will increase renewable energy production capacities in the country with a special focus on Hydropower, and the further expansion of Piva Hydro Power System. It will increase environmental standards, especially with the construction of a modern waste management centre in Možura.
Last but not least, this Plan will provide additional support to the country Broadband Infrastructure Development, social infrastructure, agricultural development and direct assistance for the development of the private sector through specific financial instruments.
