"Obviously we kept the FIA informed with what we were doing. They physically
checked the system on Wednesday and they were happy with it. Other teams aren't
quite so happy and are seeking clarification. Obviously if the FIA are not happy
with it we will change our position. If the FIA continue to be happy with it we
will continue to use it. We're happy with it.

"There were some stories there were going to be some protests and I think
that would be very unfortunate. It's not really the way to resolve these issues
- we've never done that. A protest after qualifying or after the race is not
very pleasant because of course it can be done on a Thursday or can be done on a
Friday when it's less critical and the system can be turned off. Protests after
we've been through qualifying are a bit unpleasant and certainly not something
we would intentionally do. I hope it doesn't deteriorate to that.

"But it's a new and novel system, we've presented our case and the FIA are
comfortable they've given it the green light, but someone might come up with
something we haven't thought about and we'll have to reconsider the whole thing.
But so far we're happy with what we've got."

Brawn added that some of the exhaust systems on other cars could also be
considered illegal under the regulations and that all the talk of Mercedes'
F-duct was conveniently distracting attention.

"Formula One is very competitive, the people involved in it are very
competitive and it is the nature of the sport," Brawn added. "Every year that I
can remember there has been debate and argument. Probably, to be honest, what we
have done has taken the focus off the exhaust systems people are running because
they are nowhere near what was intended by the FIA.

"The FIA told us that we were not going to have exhaust-blown diffusers
anymore and we thought we weren't going to have them, yet several cars have go
them. Our rear wing system has probably taken the spotlight off of what is
clearly something that wasn't intended. But that's the nature of Formula One.
You have to work to the regulations and if somebody can see a clever
interpretation then that's the nature of our business."

Michael Schumacher insists that it is unrealistic for him to fight for victory in Sunday's Australian Grand Prix despite Mercedes making a step forward over the winter.

Both Mercedes drivers were in the thick of the action at the front of the field in qualifying on Saturday. Nico Rosberg and Schumacher were first and third in Q2, before having to settle for seventh and fourth respectively in Q3.

However, despite starting from the second row, Schumacher said his focus overnight will not be on trying to score a 92nd career victory.

"I'm not dreaming too much about winning this race," the seven-time world champion told reporters in Melbourne. "Yes, we're fourth, but we have strong guys in front of us.

"We'll hopefully have a chance to jump on the podium, that's not completely unrealistic. To win from where we are...it's too early to talk about that."

Schumacher added that he was not surprised to be closer to the front than last year, but he was caught out by the Q3 performance of McLaren, and the struggles of Red Bull, the teams sharing the first and third rows of the grid respectively.

"I think it is no surprise where we are," he said. "And I think it will be no surprise if we are going to look reasonably good tomorrow in the race. But don't forget the other guys look good too.

"I was surprised to see the difference McLaren pulled from Q2 to Q3, as everybody was close basically the whole weekend and then suddenly in Q3 there was a bigger gap.

"It's more or less what we would have expected from winter testing, with the exception that Red Bull, we all expected, to be in front of us."

Da, ovaj je dobar u paketu sa Lojzekom, ako treba npr. da se namjesti neka trka, kao Singapur 2008.

Posto me smori jedan drug s formulama... morao sam mu pogledat (u takvu je vukojebinu da nema dje gledat, net mu ne radi) ko je uzeo prvih 6 pozicija.... ako pitate starog vuka, (ja) imam neki osjecaj da ce Fetel sjutra biti najbrzi. Buton ce biti drugi i ako ce se trka voditi izmedju njemaca (pretpostavljam bice legendarna a shumi tu mora biti pa bio i sa 60 godina). Na kraju ce mu izgorjet bolid i tako nesto, uglavnom, stici ce kao treci

cujemo se sjutra vece.
