Steven Fletcher misses Scotland's Czech friendly


McFadden and McCulloch could miss Wednesday's match at Hampden


Burnley striker Steven Fletcher has been ruled out of Scotland's friendly against Czech Republic on Wednesday after breaking a bone in his hand.
Fletcher is to return to Turf Moor after picking up the injury while training with Scotland on Monday.
Rangers' Lee McCulloch is expected to be ruled out of Scotland's plans with an ankle knock suffered against Celtic.
Birmingham forward James McFadden is coach Craig Levein's other doubt with a niggling groin strain.
Midfielder Darren Fletcher and defenders Andy Webster and Lee Wallace are expected to recover from knocks.


Burnley manager Brian Laws is hopeful that 22-year-old striker Fletcher - who is the club's top scorer this season with 11 goals - will be fit for Saturday's trip to London to face Arsenal in the Barclays Premier League.
"He has been for an x-ray and is coming back to us," Laws told his club website.
"We need to get it checked out again, but we feel confident that he will be available to play at the weekend with some sort of cast."
Rangers say that midfielder McCulloch will be sidelined for up to 10 days following the injury that forced him off before half-time during Sunday's 1-0 win, but that has not yet been confirmed by the Scottish Football Association.
McFadden came off early in the second half during Birmingham City's 1-0 win over Wigan Athletic on Saturday but is desperate to play at Hampden.
Fletcher broke a bone in his hand during training on Monday

"I felt it a bit again on Saturday and then it went away but I got taken off as a precaution," he said.
"It's more prevention rather than being injured, but we will see how it goes.
"I am desperate to play as I want to play for my country and it would be nice to show the new manager what I can do, but I am sure he has watched me play before."
Darren Fletcher has a tight hamstring following Manchester United's Carling Cup final win over Aston Villa on Sunday but will train on Tuesday.
Central defender Webster missed Dundee United's 3-0 win over Falkirk on Saturday with a calf injury but was due to train on Monday after improving over the weekend.
Meanwhile, the SFA says that Hearts left-back Wallace should be fine despite having three stitches in an eye injury *****d up in Hearts' 1-0 win over Aberdeen.
Levein has no plans to add to his 24-man squad and his assistant, Peter Houston, said Celtic skipper Scott Brown was in fine fettle when he joined up with his Scotland team-mates despite being controversially sent off against Rangers.
"He was in great form," said the Dundee United manager. "He had a bit of banter, but that's Scotty for you.
"Half the squad will be training today, half will be doing a recovery session."


McCulloch, though, is unlikely to be fit enough to confirm his return to the Scotland set-up having asked not to be considered for selection under previous national boss George Burley.
The 31-year-old, who had said that he wanted to concentrate on his club career, was persuaded to reconsider by Levein.
McCulloch, who said he had wanted to concentrate on his club career before reversing his decision, reported to the national team camp on Sunday evening and his injury was due to be further assessed in the morning.

Naši igrači spremni i na paklenu atmosferu i na izazov koji ih čeka, jer ne doživljavaju put u Alžir, kao prijatan izlet. Rival mnogo jači nego što se pretpostavlja, a saigrači našim igračima u Laciju i Đenovi, Alžirci, Menji i Karja poručili da nas čeka veliki pritisak sa tribina. Alžir u euforiji, od danas slavnog Mađera, nisu igrali na SP.
Fudbaleri reprezentacije Srbije ocenili su danas da će predstojeći duel sa Alžirom biti odlična prilika da se srpska ekipa ponovo okupi, ali da to ne znači da je rezultat nebitan.

"Ovo je lep momenat da se družimo posle reprezentativne pauze, a pred početak priprema za Svetsko prvenstvo, da odigramo jednu ozbiljnu utakmicu", kazao je novinarima na okupljanju fudbalera u Kovilovu napadač Ajaksa Marko Pantelić.

"On neće igrati zbog povrede, ali mi je rekao da su Alžirci ludi za fudbalom, posebno pošto su se posle dugo vremena (posle 1986. godine) plasirali na Svetsko prvenstvo", rekao je Kolarov, a do sličnih saznanja stigao je i Boško Janković, ali u razgovoru sa Huseinom Karjom.

"Potvrdio mi je da nas očekuje pun stadion od 70.000 ljudi, euforična atmosfera. Rekao mi je da su zapaljeni za fudbal, mnogo bučni. Zato i ne treba da ovaj meč shvati kao prijateljski, već kao takmičarski. Da u velikom stilu krenemo ka Mundijalu", naveo je Janković, koji danas puni 26 godina.

"Poželeo sam da me zaobiđu povrede zbog kojih nisam igrao prethodnih šest meseci. Zdravlje nam je svima i najbitnije. Mnogo mi je značio ovaj poziv selektora sada. Mondijal je veliki motiv. Sada samo želim da što više igram, kako bih se što pre vratio u ritam", dodao je Janković.

Reči hvale za selekciu Alžira imao je i štoper Čelsija Branislav Ivanović.

"Dobra su ekipa, posebno kao kolektiv. Mnogo su opasni kada igraju kao domaćini. Ali zato ovo i jeste pravi izazov. Zato i treba da nastavimo tamo gde smo stali prošle godine", rekao je Ivanović pred duel u sredu.
