Schumacher now breathing without respirator

7 March, 2014Michael Schumacher is now breathing without the aid of a respirator, according to a report in the authoritative La Gazzetta dello Sport.It is a significant possible development in the seven time world champion’s situation, more than nine weeks into his coma following a skiing fall in late December.The Formula 1 legend’s manager Sabine Kehm issued an official statement on Friday, warning that any unofficial information about Schumacher’s condition is “not valid”.“Michael is still in the wake up phase,” the official statement added. “The situation has not changed.”But the Gazzetta article was penned by the highly respected correspondent Pino Allievi, and at the Geneva motor show, Kehm indicated that Schumacher’s overall situation has improved.“Michael is out of danger,” she reportedly said, “but the condition is still serious and so it is difficult to say all the risks are gone.“But it is clear that his condition is no longer as sensitive as at first.”Allievi, meanwhile, wrote that while Schumacher’s children have now returned to school, Schumacher’s close friends such as Jean Todt and Ross Brawn are alternating at his bedside and speaking to the great German in English, as they did during their ultra-successful Ferrari days.The report said that during these visits, at which recordings of pit radio conversations and Formula 1 engine sounds are played in order to stimulate his memories, the expression on Schumacher’s face sometimes changes.And when the doctors are in the room, Schumacher reportedly often grimaces, or his arms move.

Sezona počinje 16 marta u Australiji. Za ovu sezonu su pravila konstrukcije drastično izmjenjna tako da očekujem da će se karte malo drugačije posložiti, te da ćemo imati konačno zanimljivu sezonu. Evo jedan mali podsjetnik kakvi su motori do sada pogonili bolide formule 1:

1947
Motor je radne zapremine 4,5 litara ako je atmosverski, a ako je kompresorski 1,5 litara. Snage su bile oko 400 KS.

1954
Motor je radne zapremine 2,5 litara ako je atmosverski, a ako je kompresorski 0,75 litara. Niti jedan tim nije koristio motor sa kompresorskim punjenjem. Snage su bile do 290 KS.

1957
Motori su bili atmosverski zapremine 1,5 litara, dok je raspon snage bio od 150 do 225 KS.

1966
Dozvoljeno je ta atmosverski motori imaju zapreminu do 3,0 litre, dok su sa prinudnim punjenjem dozvoljeni sa maksimalnom zapreminom od 1,5 litre. 1980 Reno predstavlja prvi turbo motor, da bi do 1985 godine svi prešli na turbo motore. Kako nije bilo pravila o pritisku turbo punjača on bi za kvalifikacije pravo veći pritisak tako da su motori proizvodii do 1.300 KS. U trci snaga bi bila do 900 KS.

1987
Pritisak turbo punjača je ograničen na 4 bara (zapremina motora je i dalje 1,5 litara), dok su atmosverski motori mogli da imaju 3,5 litara radne zapremine. Snaga je išla do 900 KS.

1988
Pritisak turbo punjača je ograničen na 2,5 bara.

1989
Turbo punjač je zabranjen, dozvoljeni su samo atmosverski motori do 3,5 litara radne zapremine. Snaga je išla do 820 KS.

1995
Radna zapremina motora (koji mora biti atmosverski) je ograničena na 3,0 litre. Do kraja razvoja snage su išle preko 900 KS.

2006
Maksimalna dozvoljena zapremina je 2,4 litre sa konfiguracijom V8 i uglom među cilindrima od 90 stepeni. Maksimalni prečnik cilindra ne smije da bude veći od 89 mm. Minimalna težina motora je 95 kg. Pomoćni sistemi kao što je hlađenje usisnog vazduha, ubrizgavanje bilo kakve supstance osim vazduha i goriva, promenjljiva geometrija usisa i izduva, te promenjljivo vrijeme otvaranja/zatvaranja ventila je zabranjeno. Dozvoljena je samo jedna brizgaljka i svjećica po cilindru.

2007
Ista pravila za motor, s' tim da se radilica ne smije kretati brže od 19.000 o/min.

2014
Dozvoljeni su samo motori sa turbo punjenjem maksimalne radne zapremine 1,6 litara koji se mogu najviše vrtjeti do 15.000 o/min. Dozvoljeno ja maksimalno do pet sistema za obnovu energije. Izduvna grana može da se završi samo jednim izduvom.

Only a miracle can save Michael Schumacher: Doctors reportedly tell family

Michael Schumacher's wife Corinna and brother Ralph have been consulting brain surgeons across Europe and have reportedly been told that chances of survival are minimal.











Doctors treating Michael Schumacher have reportedly told his family that 'only a miracle' can now save the legendary Formula One racer who has been battling for life since his tragic skiing accident on December 29.

According to a report in Britain's Daily Telegraph, wife Corinna and brother Ralph Schumacher have been seeking advice from top brain surgeons across Europe and they have been told that chances of survival are minimal. Quoting sources, the report claims that the 45-year-old Schumacher's family believes doctors treating him in French town of Grenoble have little hope of making any progress. "The family is said to be concerned that the French doctors treating Schumacher have little hope that he will recover and now assume that he will remain in a vegetative state for the rest of his life." The legendary racer suffered a serious head injury when he crashed while skiing with his son and friends in the French Alpine ski resort of Meribel. Schumacher slammed his head during a fall in a boulder-strewn section and the impact broke even his protective helmet into two pieces.

Although medical bulletins have been kept to a minimum, Schumacher's management have repeatedly said that unofficial reports should be considered invalid. This after an Italian newspaper claimed that the seven-time F1 champion was 'breathing without assistance'.

Medical experts around the world broadly agree that chances of Schumacher making a full recovery are minimal. Experts say that artificial comas usually last for up to three weeks and that Schumacher has shown very little progress which dims chances of a recovery.
