Ferrari is always pushing, as do the other teams

2010-e i 2011-e su rekli: we are trying to understand the car, sad je totalno druga prica:
I just can't wait!!!Mercedes are in a better position going into the 2012 Formula One season than
for the last two years but victory is "unlikely" in Melbourne next week, record
world champion Michael Schumacher said Wednesday.
Without mentioning German compatriot and world champion Sebastian Vettel,
Schumacher said he believed Red Bull had the best chance at the Australian Grand
Prix on March 18.
"Victory to me is unlikely, I see Red Bull in front. Behind them it will be
tight, and you can be either hero or zero very quickly," the Mercedes driver
said on his website.
Red Bull's Vettel has won the F1 drivers' championship for the last two
years. Schumacher, whose contract expires after the 2012 season, said a win
would largely depend on "how well you will be setting up your car to the
respective track".
Mercedes are "heading into the season much better prepared than in the past
two years, and we can fully concentrate onto the development of our car," he
said.
The speed of the Silver Arrow F1 WO3, which has been tested over 4 250
kilometres, is "promising."
He added: "I hope we can show that in Melbourne. We were able to drive a lot
during the tests and therefore learn a lot too, and we certainly have made a
step forward. Just that I would want to wait until after the first races to
judge how big this step is and how much it is worth compared to our
competitors."

HE is simply the best:
Well, Mercedes is a bit of an unknown. You've got a car which has not been
particularly interesting or exciting in the past couple of years. It's been
limited in terms of the opportunities the drivers have been able to get from it.
This really has to be a big step forward from their point of view this year, and
we're all hoping we can see that. But the opposition isn't standing still, so
it's hard to imagine that they have made a big enough step to challenge for race
wins from where they were
But he certainly needs to be challenging for podiums. We saw a big
improvement in his performances in the second half of last year, especially his
race performances, he still struggled a bit with qualifying. I think there's no
reason why he shouldn't be able to continue that upward trend, as long as the
car is good enough. But at the end of the day, he's such a huge asset to the
sport as a whole, and he's a huge asset to Mercedes wherever they go in the
world.
He's still the most famous racing driver in the world, so it's great to have
him about.

Michael, what is your resume after the wintertests?
The car is reliable which is already good. The first impression was already quite positive. We were driving out of the box with the car and everything went well, so there is potential. We are heading into the season much better prepared than in the past two years, and we can fully concentrate onto the development of our car.
The car is reliable, okay, but is it fast as well?
The speed is promising. I hope we can show that in Melbourne. We were able to drive a lot during the tests and therefore learn a lot too, and we certainly have made a step forward. Just that I would want to wait until after the first races to jude how big this step is and how much it is worth compared to our competitors.
Why are you that cautious?
Because we have experienced last year that you can be very wrong relying on the data coming out oft he winter tests. And because we can see that the field will be very narrow this year. I do not have a clear picture yet. What we can say though is that the gap between the several teams will not be as big as it has been last year.
Do you have a chance to win in Australia?
Victory to me is unlikely, I see Red Bull in front. Behind them it will be tight, and you can be either hero or zero very quickly. It will come down a lot to the ability of how well you will be setting up your car to the respective track.
Your contract is running until the end of the year. When will we know if you will extend it?
That’s just totally unimportant at the moment, I don’t even think about it now. Now, it is all about focussing and concentrating on understanding our car, so that we will have a positive season. I will certainly not have me nailed down here.
For the first time in history of F1 there are 6 world champions competing, what’s your view on that?
That’s fabulous, as for a while I have been the only one on the field. This speaks for Formula 1, and it might guarantee for cool races and a lot of action. In any case, it makes me even more looking forward to the season.

A gledaces ti njih, don't worry.
Ajmo, sto ocekujete?
NAJVECI ce potpisat sa Merđom do 2015-e with option to extend.

Defensive driving
Previously, drivers have been allowed to move off-line to defend their position and move back towards the racing line afterwards. When returning to the racing line while defending, they are expected to leave room for another car that might have appeared alongside them.
This requirement was not written in the rules before, but now it is enshrined in the rulebook. Article 20.3 of the sporting regulations says:
More than one change of direction to defend a position is not permitted. Any driver moving back towards the racing line, having earlier defended his position off‐line, should leave at least one car width between his own car and the edge of the track on the approach to the corner.
Time limit
Following last year’s Canadian Grand Prix – which at four hours and four minutes was the longest F1 race ever – the FIA has imposed a maximum time limit on Grands Prix.
If a race is suspended, the total race time can now not exceed four hours.
The previous two-hour time limit on races that are not suspended still applies.
Lapped cars passing the safety car
Lapped cars will once again be allowed to pass the safety car. This rule was previously introduced in 2007 but was scrapped at the end of 2009.
As was the case when the rule was last enforced, lapped cars will only be allowed to unlap themselves if the clerk of the course allows them to.
The rule will reduce the chance of races restarting with lapped drivers in between the front-running drivers.
However it may also increase the length of safety car periods as the cars unlapping themselves must “proceed around the track at an appropriate speed”, according to the rules.
Rejoining at a restart
When an interrupted race is restarted, cars that were in the pit lane for any reason are now permitted to join the assembled grid in their race position.
Corner cutting
Drivers are not allowed to leave the lines of the track without a good reason.
Previously, drivers have often cut chicanes in practice sessions in order to save fuel and time on their in-laps. Sebastian Vettel also did this in qualifying at Korea last year, but the practice has now been outlawed.
Tyres
Another addition to the rulebook is that a driver can now use all of his allocated tyres for the weekend on the first day of the event if they choose.
Lower noses
The lowering of the noses at the front of the car for safety reasons has led to some strange-looking machines this year.
Exhaust-blown diffuser restrictions
In a bid to prevent teams blowing exhaust gasses into their diffusers to generate downforce, the rules now specify where the exhausts on the car should be.
Parc ferme
A car must have all its parts attached before leaving the pits before a race now.
In China last year Lewis Hamilton drove to the grid with part of his engine cover missing. This will now be prohibited.
Crash tests
The teams must pass all FIA crash tests before participating in pre-season testing. We have already seen the consequences of this particular new rule.
Marussia and HRT fell victim to this over the winter, failing to get their cars through the tests in time to take place in any of the official pre-season tests.
