Default Advice for moving to Montenegro...

Hi, my family and I are shortly moving to Montenegro. I have several questions...

1: We will be driving in our own British car. What documents will we need to cross the border?
2: We will be bringing our dog from the UK. What documents will we need to cross the border?
3: My daughter is 13 months old and I am keen for her to meet other children - are there any English speaking nursary's or baby groups in the Budva area?
4: Are there any English speakers in the Budva area who can offer any advice on eating/shopping/living etc.?

    Thanks, Louise

hello, and welcome to our little country, first of all answers:
    1. you just need some insurance papre and thats it, green card as we call it, the same thing like i europe, some of agencies in uk can arrange that
2.for dog standard papers, just his passport, but they will not ask any questions or any papers, but to be sure , have it somewhere , mostly because of others, croatian broder or so
3.today enormous ammount od kids speak and leran english, so dont worry about that
    4. and in budva there is a serious english school and education center in the university of Budva with a perfect teacher and native from Budva Mrs.Lea Lonza , so seek for here and she can help you with a lot of things, even you can arrange with here if you want to meet other kids speaking enligh for yours to play with
Risk , is what makes life worth living

Never a failure, always a lesson!

Since she is only 13, she can start learning Montenegrin
You won't have any problems in communication in English, especially on the coast.

The owners at Hotel/Restaurant Kangaroo in Budva are Montenegrin/Australians, pop in and speak to Bob or Sonja

Doubt you'll find any English-speaking nursery in Budva. You could try that maybe in 2045 but I guess by then, you'll rather need an English-speaking elderly home in Budva

pa ne znam baš, vjerovatno su ljudi prebrinuli finansijske brige u životu a svakako je ljepše živjet na našem primorju nego u kišnoj i smornoj britaniji...

Thanks for the advice, we are now settled in Becici. Where is the irish bar? The website seems to be down at the moment. I would love to know more about Montenegro and the language if anyone would like to meet up - somewhere toddler friendly! I have found it difficult to find people to talk to as my language is so poor - I am trying to learn but I am not very good!!

Good luck finding people to talk with in English.

Allegedly there is elementary EN school in Porto Montenegro (Tivat), they might have nursery too but I'm not sure.
