    BMW is moving to facelift the X3 4x4 in record time. Autocar’s spies have caught this undisguised prototype less than a year after the car was launched. BMW design boss Chris Bangle recently said it was time for another design ‘revolution’ at BMW. This rapid makeover suggests bosses didn’t care much for the old way of doing things.


    Close examination shows that the whole of the X3’s nose moulding has been redesigned as well as the sill covers and the rear bumper. The current car (right) has a very distinctive – and many say very ugly – bumper, which stands proud from the car’s nose under the headlights.

    The front bumper and grille are now one-piece and the collection of sharp edges, slots and mesh intakes have been swept away for a slicker look. The driving lights have also been repositioned.

    The rather meanly styled sill covers have been replaced by a wider, more substantial moulding with a stainless tread plate fitted to its surface. At the back, the bumper and lower tailgate cover have also been re-designed, with a more X5-like valance, and the tailgate is now flush with the bumper face. The X3 should also get improvements to the ride and it could be fitted with the twin-turbo 3.0-litre diesel engine. There’s no word on a launch date.

    As BMW’s M6 grabs the limelight ahead of its September debut, Munich’s development specialists have turned to its closest relations – the super-desirable M6 Convertible and the out-and-out range-topper, the M6 CSL.


    The cloth-topped M6 will arrive first; it’s a safe bet to appear at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September and be on UK roads next summer. In its finished form, the car will wear the same 19in alloy wheels and aero kit as the coupé, and use the same V10 engine and seven-speed sequential gearbox.

    However, the coupé’s signature carbonfibre roof will be replaced by multilayered folding canvas that stows electrically in 20sec, and at up to 20mph. Autocar’s sources suggest that the M6 Convertible could weigh 1900kg, compared with the coupé’s 1710kg. It’s likely to be tuned for a much less hardcore demeanor than the coupé, featuring slightly less aggressive suspension, gearbox and engine calibrations, and accelerating to 62mph in just over 5.0sec. Expect it cost around Ł85,000. If your M6 has to be the fastest of the family, you’ll want to wait for the CSL, not due until 2007. The M-division is currently experimenting with a lightweight body and lower suspension set-up, and there are rumours of a 50bhp power boost for the car.

    Dear god, please make the M3 like this!!!











    C&D says it is going to be 400 KS. 4.0 liter V8, derived basically from the M5 V10! 7 speed SMG or 6 speed manual!!!

    Available Fall 2006 at least $50,000.

    The next M3 as always will be the flagship of the 3er portfolio. And will be available as coupe, sedan and then a high performance touring version.
    The reintroduction of a sedan and the introduction of a Touring was chosen because we realise we are losing customers who want the practicality . The logical choice would be Alpina but many defect to other manufacturers.

    The next M3 will receive a high rev V8 evolved from the latest V10 - Basically two cylinders removed but no less spectacular.
    due to increasing competition ,power up to 414BHP The next CSL will head into 500 BHP territory.
    Specified , top speed could be unlimited up to 180 or 190mph. Six speed manual gearbox and optional Seven speed SMG. drivelogic.

    The next M3 is all about progress - We upgrade the current car (E46) to todays requirements , add tweak here, more developments , new materials and remove some weight from there.

    The Coupe is expected to follow the M6 with a carbon fibre roof however both a metal roof and carbon fibre have beeen tested to see which one emphasizes the cars capabilities. Carbon fibre won. As it will be positioned as the top M3 variant. More use of cabrbon fibre and composite plastic as seen with M6. Structure and chassis will benefit with use of alluminium for exceptional ride quality , rigidity and handling.

    The next M3 is known as the 100%er
    As a car especially a performance it can do no wrong - The appeal of the M3 will still be there but with the use of lightweight materials . This evolution will give a feel of nostalgia by mirroring past M3 achievements.

    In giving a strong character and a driving experience like no other car on the market. Audi may have 420BHP RS4 - but they have 4.2 engine and quattro technology = weight penallty.

    The next M3 will fully be seen in all body styles of the 3er E90 platform -
    think of it as an M3 for all types of users. Sedan for the family , Coupe for the enthusiast , cabrio for the sunseekers and Touring for the capacity.

    All to known coupe-cabrio as 4er - BMW have now changed their mind and will develop a new 4er car from the ground up - What shape this is to be in is not known as yet.

    Baki, nisam rekao da je RS4 spor niti da ne drzhi ali sam rekao da njegov motor nije dobar kao BMW-ov, to potpisuje V10.

    M6 nije BMW, to je neka kineska kanta sa BMW-ovom mehanikom. BMW 5 je dobar, 7 je koma, 1 i 3 su OK!
