Novosti u BENZ-u.

No, ajmo malo novosti. Opet je u centru triple apex, čuvena OSMICA i malo njene analize iz Benza.
Naravno, NAJVEĆI je rekao da je to za njega EASY... i da će bit ICE COLD dok bude driftovao..
In a single lap of Istanbul Park one corner accounts for 40% of the energy put through the tyres.
It is, of course, the 270kph, triple-apex turn eight.
Mercedes issued a Q&A explaining some of the remarkable facts and figures behind one of the most famous corners in F1:
Turn eight is the longest corner of the season. What are the key facts?
Turn eight is 640m long – which equates to 12 per cent of the total lap distance of 5.338km – and lasts for 8.5 seconds, equivalent to 10% of the current lap record of 1’24.770 set in 2005.
Drivers generally take three apexes, the slowest of which is at 260 kph, with an average corner speed of 270 kph.
How does this compare to the other longest and fastest corners of the season?
Turn eight presents a unique combination of very high speeds and sustained load.
In terms of time spent in the corner, the cornering phase through turns one and two in Shanghai totals 8.7s – which exceeds Turn eight – but during deceleration rather than at sustained high speed.
The Parabolica at Monza lasts for 7.6s, and Barcelona’s turn three for 7.4s. In terms of speed, comparable corners are 130R at Suzuka (3.7s, 315m) and Copse at Silverstone (3s, 240m) – both have a duration of less than half that of turn eight.
In terms of distance, the season’s next longest corners are Parabolica at Monza (470m) and Spa’s Pouhon (460m) – both are over 25% shorter than turn eight.
What G-forces do the drivers experience in Turn eight?
The peak G-force is 5G, while a level of 4.5G is sustained for two seconds. The average G-force in the corner is 3.5G.
What demands does this place on the tyres?
Turn eight is the most demanding corner of the season in terms of tyre energy. Although it represents just 12% of the total lap distance, this corner alone accounts for approximately 40% of the total tyre energy during the lap at Istanbul Park. Of the car’s four corners, the right-hand front tyre is worked hardest.
What loadings are the cars subjected to in the corner?
The peak suspension loadings through the corner are over 10,000 Newtons – equivalent to a force of 1,000kg, or over 150% the total car weight. The average loading on the right-hand front is 7,000N.
The corner also imposes vertical G-forces owing to the bumpy surface between the first and second apexes: the variation between +0.5G and -0.8G feels harsh to the drivers.
How does car set-up take account of the corner?
Car set-up must take this corner into specific consideration, notably in terms of tyre camber settings and ride heights, particularly at the rear of the car.
What do the drivers think of the corner?
For seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher, the corner is “not particularly difficult to drive but one of the season’s longest and pretty fast.”
Performance in the corner is car-dependent: “It’s very heavy on the tyres, and the way you drive the corner largely depends on the car and how you have set it up. That compromise might make it tricky, so we need to wait and see how it goes.”
In contrast, team mate Nico Rosberg finds it “one of the most challenging corners of the year” owing to the high speed and prolonged G-loadings. “If I had to create fantasy Formula One circuit, this corner would definitely be included!”

Rosby je zadovoljan:
Nico Rosberg tested last week at the brand new Simulator all new parts - and it sounds happy.
"In the simulator I was fast. In Istanbul, these new parts are now the first time in the car. Mercedes claims to have found in the simulator for a second. Rosberg: "It is important that we push further in order to catch up with Red Bull, perhaps to shrink a little."
Especially in the qualification Mercedes was far too slow - was missing for about a second ...
Brawn:
Ross Brawn is adamant that Mercedes GP have a "fundamentally good car", they just need to "achieve its full potential."
Despite being billed as potential race winners ahead of the season-opening Australian GP, Mercedes GP failed to live up to expectations.
The team failed to reach the chequered flag in Melbourne while at the following race in Malaysia only Michael Schumacher succeeded in finishing in the points.
However, it was a different story last time out in China with Nico Rosberg finishing in fifth place after leading the grand prix for a number of laps.
And had it not been for a fuel consumption issue, the German may have even challenged for a podium finish.
As such, Brawn is confident that his team has a good car in their W02, they just need to get the best out of it.
"The team and drivers have worked extremely hard in the short break before the European season begins to ensure that we continue to move forward," said the team boss.
"We have a fundamentally good car and we need to achieve its full potential in the races to come. The Chinese Grand Prix reminded everyone at the team what it is like to fight for a race.
"We didn't succeed on that occasion but it's a feeling that we would like to experience more often. When the car is working properly, we can be more competitive and the solutions we are bringing to Turkey will help us achieve this level more consistently.
"However, we also know that we need to push for more performance if we want to fight regularly at the front. The first three races have been a challenge but we have pulled together and will continue working hard to make progress."

Evo sto kaze najzalosniji:
I arrived in Istanbul this evening along with the team on the usual charter flight that we use for European races. I was in Maranello from Monday night onwards: we had programmed some work in the simulator to prepare for these first few races of the European part of the season and so it was the perfect opportunity to meet up with the engineers to discuss how development is coming on with the 150° Italia. Already in Turkey, we will have a few new aerodynamic components, but further updates are due to arrive in the following races. We know we have to take a significant step forward in terms of performance if we want to get back to fighting for the top places, especially in qualifying. I’m not expecting a major change in Istanbul: on Friday we will see if the new parts work the way we are expecting, but we are well aware that the others have not been twiddling their thumbs these past few weeks, so it’s impossible to say today where we are compared to our main rivals.Onda, Hamilton:
We’ve had a slightly longer break than usual and it was useful to pause for breath after the first run of races outside Europe. I made the most of it to spend time with my family, but also to concentrate on upping my training level, working mainly on the bike.
The Istanbul circuit is very technical, with many different types of corner, some serious ups and downs and a couple of places where overtaking was possible in the past: this year that should be even more the case thanks to the moveable rear wing. This element has proved to play an important part in making overtaking easier, but the factor that has the biggest effect on whether one driver can pass another is the difference in tyre performance, as we clearly saw in China. When you end up in trouble with the tyres, it gets very difficult to defend your position from another driver, even if his tyres are just a few laps fresher than yours. Usually, the Istanbul race is pretty demanding on tyres and so it will be very important to get an understanding of their behaviour in Friday’s free practice. At the moment, the weather forecast looks very uncertain, especially for Friday, which adds a further unknown to this weekend.
I don’t want to make any predictions about the final result: we know it will be tough for us, but the will to work hard and to do well is not lacking. I saw that these past few days in Maranello where everyone is working very hard, from Domenicali to the mechanics, so that everyone can get on top of the situation in their own area as soon as possible. It is this great desire to get the job done that makes the people at Maranello so special.
Setting no lap time was Lewis Hamilton, whose McLaren remained in its garage for the majority of the session. Following team-mate Jenson Button out of the pit lane for a late practice start, the 2008 Champion was forced to stop due to suspected clutch problems.
sto cini "rainman" :p
a kaze i da je zreo za penziju:Quote:
Michael Schumacher was third for Mercedes, 0.060secs behind his team-mate Rosberg, but survived a scare late on when he aquaplaned into the run-off area.
The 42-year-old nearly collided with another car when he returned to the track, although the seven-time world champion is unlikely to be unfazed by his adventure in the wet.
